Artist's Bio
Saegan Swanson is a painter and mixed media artist living and working in Oakland, CA. Her work focuses on the human figure and seeks to explore the relationship between photography, painting and drawing. After studying at Freie Universität in Berlin, Germany she graduated with a degree in Political Science and a minor in Art Practice from the University of California, Berkeley in 2009.
In addition to her artwork, Saegan is the Office and Grants Manager for The Nautilus Institute, a research institute at the University of San Francisco specializing in security and sustainability issues in Northeast Asia. Saegan is also on the Advisory Board of the Global Stewards Institute, an academic program that seeks to develop global leaders and social entrepreneurship through international education, research and service.
